BIOGRAPHY

Felka are Rose Wheeler and Tanisha Badman; "poplicious folk duo" with "brazen lyrics and lush harmonies" hailing from the rolling hills of West Yorkshire. Since forming in 2014, they have appeared on the infamous Sofar Sounds in London, York, Nottingham and twice for homecomings show in Leeds. Championed by BBC Introducing, they are played by the station on a regular basis. Gig accolades include playing Millennium Square in Leeds for Under The Owls Festival and supporting Jethro Tull, Samantha Fish (U.S), Keiran Leonard, Baka Beyond and Wildwood Kin. The name is taken from a second World War novel, 'Portrait of a Young Forger'. The non-fictional character Felka's act of self sacrifice to save her missing brother Adek struck a chord with the two musicians as both beautiful and heroic.

Bolstered by a new rhythm section, the band spent time with legendary producer Andy Hawkins recording three brand new tracks in a converted chapel. "Best Friends Bike", "Reoccurring Dream" and "Hourglass" will be released throughout 2018. Listen below.
